Nyloa started from a real problem. Running purchasing and operations at a busy Brooklyn grocery store, I watched our delivery operation run on radio calls, WhatsApp threads, and phone calls. We had ETAs — they just weren't accurate.

We had seven drivers. We had frozen orders, cold orders, and dry orders all going to the same neighborhoods. We had school dismissal times that would double our delivery times if we dispatched at the wrong moment. The tools we paid for showed dots on a map — the thinking was still on us.

And it wasn't just delivery. The register, the store's website, and the delivery van each lived in its own world — the register printed a delivery label. Every day someone had to be the bridge between them. The software didn't optimize around the store — the store had to optimize itself around the software.
